Director of Social Services, Pennsylvania & Social Worker

Role & Responsibility: I am the Managing Director of Social Services for International Family Services in Pennsylvania. I have held that position since mid 2005. Prior to that I was a contractual social worker providing home studies for IFS and I also worked with a local Russian adoption agency in the same capacity. I supervise one social worker who works for us in the Philadelphia area. The IFS PA office is in my home so I manage the records there as well as coordinate licensing visits.

Family: I have been happily married for almost 28 years to my husband, David. We moved to the Pittsburgh area in 1998 for him to take a job as a professor at Duquesne University in the Biological Sciences department. We are blessed to have two beautiful kids, Joseph, 23, and Anna, 20. Joe will be attending graduate school in the Fall at University of MN, after spending a year post-undergrad in Madrid, Spain teaching English. Anna is currently a sophomore at Duquesne University. My parents and 3 of my 4 siblings are in St. Louis so we make regular road trips there.

Part of the IFS Team Since: 2002. (I can’t believe it’s been this long!)

Little Known Facts About Me: I traveled abroad to Spain while in college and am fluent in Spanish. My children have followed in my footsteps which is a delight. I love to travel abroad and have been to Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Italy, France and Spain over the past few years. I also work as an out-patient psychotherapist part-time in a group practice where I see adolescents, adults and families (sometimes adoptive families). I absolutely love my work with IFS and look forward to continuing to help families realize their adoption dreams.
